Gardens, Parks, Temples &
the Über city
Around the corner from the fish market is the
Hama-rikyu gardens.
We were very lucky and got to see the many spring blossoms
in
the parks, gardens and city in general.
We visited the
Senso-ji Temple
and there is a fun market in the front entrance of the temple
and you can try the sacred lottery - or
Omikuji-
which I did of course (fortune told below).
Wow, do my Kanji skills suck! |

The market leading up to the Senso-ji Temple where they sell yummy deep fried donut-like delicacies. Don't let the bean-paste fool you - it's sweet like a jelly donut! |

To work the
sacred lottery, first you pay, then you shake the metal cylinder and
then a stick pops out with a number. You match your number against the
little drawers (or some nice Japanese lady next to you finds it for you) and ta-da -you pull out your fortune. |

I wasn't sure if "a little bit worry about traveling" meant I should NOT worry about it or only worry a little bit?! |
Seeing it was only the first day of our adventure, and not wanting the bad luck to follow me, I tied up on the post and left it behind at the temple. |
